Published Book - The Pearl Prize 2024

The Pearl Prize is presented by Osborne and Fawkner Publishing and supported by Midsumma Festival.

The theme of the 2024 Pearl Prize was A Brave(R) Space.

Writers were prompted to think about what bravery feels like, throughout queer history and in the present. What does it take to create a brave space?

From a wealth of amazing submissions, 15 finalists were selected from across Australia.

Their words within these pages, from writers within the LGBTQIA+ community, touch on lived experience, a little fantasy, and a whole lot of self-expression.  So, open the pages and celebrate bravery, pride, and all of us gorgeous humans... just the way we are.
